Korean Mixed Ramen: Jin Ramen & Jin Jjampong

โฑ๏ธ Total time: 15 minutes

๐Ÿฅข Introduction

Mixing two instant noodles might sound unusual, but in Korea, itโ€™s something many people actually do.
One of the most common combinations is Jin Ramen and Jin Jjampong, mixed together to make the broth richer, spicier, and more satisfying than using just one packet.

The seafood broth from Jjampong and the familiar spicy taste of Jin Ramen work really well together.
The result is a bowl of ramen that feels fuller and more balanced, without needing any extra ingredients.

If you enjoy instant ramen and want to try something a little different, this Korean-style mixed ramen is an easy place to start.

๐Ÿ›’ Ingredients

โœ” 1 pack Jin Ramen
โœ” 1 pack Jin Jjampong
โœ” Onion, sliced
โœ” Green onion, chopped
โœ” Shrimp
โœ” Cooking oil
โœ” 1 cup noodle cooking water (about 180 ml)

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ Instructions

Step 1. Cook the noodles.
Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook Jin Ramen and Jin Jjampong together, including the dried flakes. Drain and set aside 1 cup of the noodle cooking water (about 180 ml).

Step 2. Heat a little oil in a pan and stir-fry the onion, green onion, and shrimp until fragrant.

Step 3. Add all of the Jin Jjampong powder seasoning, then add the Jin Ramen powder seasoning to taste (using all of it can make the soup too salty).

Step 4. Add 1 cup of the reserved noodle cooking water to the pan.

Step 5. Add the cooked noodles and gently mix everything together.

Step 6. Finish by adding the liquid oil from Jin Jjampong.

Step 7. Simmer briefly until the broth is well combined, then serve hot.

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Serving Tips

Best enjoyed while itโ€™s still hot.

๐Ÿ’ก Additional Note

โœ” The liquid seasoning should be added in full.
โœ” The powder seasoning is adjustable. I used about half of the Jin Ramen powder.
โœ” If you add more vegetables or shrimp, you can add more of the powder seasoning without it tasting too salty.

โ“ FAQ

Q. How much vegetables should I add?
A. Thereโ€™s no fixed amount โ€” add as much or as little as you like.
I like vegetables, so I used half an onion and one stalk of green onion.

Q. Can I replace the shrimp with something else?
A. Yes. Squid works well if you donโ€™t have shrimp.
