Ground Beef Jangjorim

A quick and easy version of the classic Korean jangjorim made with ground beef and quail eggs. This savory, slightly sweet soy sauce dish is perfect with warm rice and makes a delicious make-ahead side dish.

Ingredients
  

  • 200g ground beef
  • 30 boiled quail eggs (peeled)
  • 6 tbsp soy sauce (jin ganjang)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 200ml water
  • 1 green chili, sliced (optional)

Method
 

  1. Cook ground beef in a pan over medium heat for 3–4 minutes, breaking it into small pieces until fully cooked.
  2. Add soy sauce, sugar, garlic, water, and quail eggs. Stir well to coat everything evenly.
  3. Simmer for 10–15 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens and the flavors develop.
  4. Add sliced green chili at the end for a little heat, if desired.
